How to Care for Your Hair Bundles
Proper care will keep your hair bundles soft, tangle-free, and looking luxurious for months to come. Follow these simple steps to protect your investment.
Washing
• Detangle first. Gently brush from ends to roots using a wide-tooth comb before washing.
• Use sulfate-free products. Wash with a sulfate-free shampoo and follow with a moisturizing, sulfate-free conditioner.
• Wash in one direction. Always brush and rinse downward, following the natural flow of the hair, to prevent matting.
• Don’t over-wash. Once every 10–15 wears (or every 2–3 weeks with regular use) is usually enough.
Conditioning & Moisture
• Deep condition weekly. A weekly deep-conditioning treatment keeps the cuticle smooth and prevents dryness.
• Apply a light hair oil or leave-in conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends daily to lock in moisture.
• Avoid the roots/weft when applying oils or heavy products, as buildup can cause slipping or odor.
Drying & Styling
• Air dry when possible. Lay the hair flat or hang it to dry naturally.
• Use heat protectant before blow-drying, curling, or flat-ironing.
• Keep heat tools under 350°F (180°C) to avoid damaging the cuticle.
• Avoid excessive heat styling, which shortens the lifespan of the bundles over time.
Nighttime Care
• Loosely braid or twist the hair, or wrap it in a silk/satin scarf before bed.
• Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and frizz.
Storage
• Store bundles in a breathable bag or on a mannequin head when not in use.
• Keep them dry, away from direct sunlight, and free of tangles before storing.
Quick Tips
• Never use regular styling combs meant for natural hair on wet bundles — always start with a wide-tooth comb.
• Avoid chlorine, saltwater, and excessive sun exposure, which can dry out and discolor the hair.
• Trim split ends every few months to keep the hair looking fresh.
With consistent care, high-quality hair bundles can last a year or longer with proper maintenance and multiple installs.
